ORGANIC FLOUR:
COMMANDEURSMOLEN FIGHTS FOR EQUAL PRICES

As a customer of the Commandeursmolen, you now profit from our philosophy, namely that we attract grains from the vicinity, and we pass this profit through to you.

At first instance, the relationship between the failed conventional corn crop in the center of the United States (also known as the ‘corn belt’) and the organic grain prizes in our region seem far-fetched.

However, the shortages that arise due to replacements of corn by other grains ánd the speculations around them have caused a rise in prices of other conventional grains. Consequently, organic grain prices have somewhat increased, but large increases on the world market – as they are now prevalent in the conventional segment- have not occurred so far.

Our starting point has also been that the growers from whom we collect our grains should receive fair prices, prices by which our growers are enabled to practice a financial healthy operational management. With these faire prices, consecutive chains in the circuit are also enabled practice healthy operational management, and so forth. This should always remain to be our starting point.

By taking abovementioned considerations into account, we have initiated conversations with our suppliers, by which the price level of 2011 was the starting point. These conversations have resulted into successful outcomes, apart from some small increases in prices such as the niche product Kamut®Khorasan.

Customers who have purchased products in the past that will increase in price, will be notified by e-mail and/ or personal conversations.

Nonetheless, we our proud the conclude that despite all developments on the world market, we have been able - apart from some exceptions- to keep the prices of the organic flours in our assortment constant.

We are happy to answer all your questions in personally.
