Milling – specifically using millstones – is not taught in any school. It is expert knowledge best retained by passing it on from one generation to the next while improving it every step of the way. The Schyns family has done so. They have been millers in the Belgian Voer region for over 150 years and in the south of Limburg since 1880. Raoul Schyns is the fifth generation in this dynasty.

With an enthusiastic team of professionals, ranging from master-miller to safety and quality manager, he is responsible for the entire operation of the modern-artisanal water mill. Apparent contrasts are brought together here as well. The combination of conviviality with punctuality. And amiability with the ambition to improve on every level.
